3 tips for getting fit after having a baby

If you’re not sure exactly how to begin, here are three recommended steps for working your way back to your new yummy mummy bod!

  •  Walking Gentle walking is the best exercise for first few months. You will naturally get some exercise by lifting and carrying your baby and performing daily household tasks. Postnatal yoga is fantastic, just make sure you start slow and when you feel ready. 
  • Breastfeed – This is a really natural way to slim down. You will be hungrier than pregnancy but make sure you eat frequently and well. Healthy snacks & drink lots of water after feeds. If bottle feeding watch your calories and food.
  • Power Naps – you’ll be sleep deprived and dealing with change so this leads to stress, stress increases cortisol hormone which makes you retain fat. In the early days try to get at least 40mins daytime sleep to help you function and stay calm. Some days are worse than others however know that as time progresses your little one will be in a routine.
